The Director

Kate Jablonski is the owner and artistic director of Beyond Words Dance Company, The Kate Jablonski Statement and Camp Kate. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business from University of Illinois at Chicago, she is a co-founder of Foundations Performance Center along with Amber Alonzo of Expression Dance Studio. In addition to running her Chicago-based companies, Kate frequently travels both nationally and internationally to share her passion for the art of dance.

Ballet Instructors

Meridith is a fourth generation dancer, who started her own training at the age of three. Ballet formed the technical core of her dance studies, which branched out to include Jazz, Tap, Hip hop, Contemporary, and Modern techniques. She received her formative training at the School of DanceWest Ballet, focusing on classical ballet technique and contemporary/modern. She performed extensively with their pre-professional company, including the annual production of “the Nutcracker”. Her education continued at Lou Conte Dance Studio, as well as studying Fosse technique with Gary Flannery and Ballet with Donna Douglass. Professional credits include the title role in “Insanity” and “Across the Universe” with Motivity Dance and guest appearances in DanceWest Ballet Company’s Nutcracker. A believer in the evolution of dance, her work includes avant garde performance art collaborations with groups such as Oucho Sparks. Meridith’s teaching career began in 1998, training dancers ranging from age two to professional level in a wide variety of disciplines, including tap, jazz, modern, contemporary and ballet. In the same year, she began to hone her choreographic skills. Her teaching credits include the School of DanceWest Ballet Company, Dream Academy of Dance Arts, Xtreme, and Von Heideke’s Dance Center. Students of hers have won recognition for technical proficiency in national competition, peer awards at the collegiate level, as well as scholarships to Bachelor and Masters degree programs.

Megan Rhodes is originally from North Carolina. She recently moved to Chicago and is in her first year with The Kate Jablonski Statement. She graduated summa cum laude from East Carolina University where she received a BFA in Dance Performance, as well as a BFA in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Professional Acting. She began her dance training at the age of 3 and began her acting training as a sophomore in college. She has trained in ballet, jazz, modern, tap, and gymnastics. She has performed at the American College Dance Festival Association and the Jazz Dance World Congress.

Physical Therapist

Jennifer received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University. During her studies, she completed a clinical rotation focusing on performing arts rehabilitation and another rotation in pediatrics. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While at the University of Illinois, she was a member of the nationally ranked Illini Dance Team and the international hip-hop troupe Dance2XS.

Jennifer currently works as an orthopedic physical therapist at Athletico Physical Therapy in Willowbrook, IL. She specializes in treating dancers, as well as children of all ages. She is certified in the Graston Technique, which is an instrument assisted manual therapy technique. Jennifer continues to further her education with classes focusing on orthopedics, dance and pediatric rehabilitation.

Jennifer grew up dancing in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. She is currently dancing with the Kate Jablonski Statement.
